Turf Valley Wedding: Kerry & Phillip

Turf Valley Wedding: Kerry & Phillip

Rob was back in Ellicott City for a Turf Valley Wedding for Kerry & Phillip’s big day! Events started at the Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Highland. Kerry wanted to do a “First Look” with her dad Scott and brother Adam.

The beautiful ceremony followed. The ambient lighting from large windows made photographing the ceremony without flash easy and less intrusive.

After the ceremony, we took some family & bridal party portraits. A lot of large groups and that’s fantastic! A big, loving family is everyone’s dream!

Once we finished those, it was on to Turf Valley for some additional portraits with the bridal party.

After introductions, Kerry & Phillip went into their choreographed first dance! It was amazing!

The first dance was followed by heartfelt toasts from the best man, who was also the groom’s brother, as well as the brother of the groom and maid of honor.

After dinner, the bride & groom made their way around the room greeting their guests. This is a great time to grab candids!

The cake cutting was the only “formal” event besides the parent dances (which are below and amazing!)

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

Well choreographed parent dances led to a bridal party flash mob! That’s dedication!

This was a dancing crowd and as with most weddings, a TON of stunning dance photos resulted. Combined with Turf Valley’s beautiful room lighting, these pictures turned out beautifully!

Every wedding photographer will have one or more “muses” at a wedding; people or couples that, for one reason or another, you end up getting amazing photos of. In any case, there’s always a little part of you that hopes they aren’t married yet but planning to so you can be their photographer.

At the end of the day, it’s about the moments. All of the above are moments and sometimes you just want to take a moment to appreciate the “Renaissance Painting” moments. Usually during the reception, they stand out to you as worth setting aside from what would otherwise be their “category” of photos from the day.
